Home Styling Tips for Auckland Properties

Whether you’ve brought it as your forever home, as part of your rental property portfolio or a do up and sell, these home styling tips are certain to be of benefit when making your to-do list:

Plan layout – draw up a plan of the home which shows each room, windows and doors, with measurements if you are able. Identify areas of high traffic and look for ways you could improve the flow. This may be as simple as adjusting your furniture placement or require home renovations.
Colour – both inside and out, is the current colour scheme something you can live with, or does it need repainting? Many homeowners are choosing a neutral palette when redecorating, with a focus on creams, whites and greys together with a splash of colour. Others choose bold and bright colours to reflect their personality and preferences. Lighting – while natural lighting is the goal, if you have a lack of it, there are a few things you can do. By adding fixed ceiling and wall lights or freestanding lamps you can remove shadows from dark areas and brighten up a room. Using a light colour palette and carefully chosen and positioned accessories can also help make a room appear more open and attractive.
