6 Living Room Staging Tips
A living room is the room many of us use to relax in and spend time with family and friends. Remove excess furniture and clutter – the aim is to make your living room appear spacious, which can be achieved by removing extra chairs, coffee tables and décor.
Depersonalise – now is the time to put your family portraits and kids’ artwork away. Buyers want to picture themselves in your home, and they can’t do that easily if your family are displayed prominently.
Bring in the houseplants – plants look amazing indoors and using plants when staging can help hide unattractive features, focus attention on specific areas and improve the ambiance within the room.
Think about the lighting – a home that receives a lot of natural light is always popular. Keep heavy furniture away from windows and doors, use mirrors to redirect light, and consider removing any heavy window treatments. Adding new artificial lighting or replacing outdated fixtures can also help with this.
Clean and clean and clean – bring out the vacuum and polish, it’s time to clean up the room. From removing cobwebs through to cleaning the carpets and polishing the furniture, your home will be judged on its cleanliness.
