Bedroom Décor Ideas When Home Staging

Never underestimate the influence well thought out home staging can have on buyers. From the moment they step inside your home, a positive impression must be made and that includes in every room. Yes, it is key to focus home staging efforts for the kitchen and living areas, you’re your bedroom décor is also important.  Our team of stagers have put together a list of ideas to help with staging your bedrooms.

Bedroom Décor Home Staging Ideas

A beautifully made bed is the centrepiece of a staged bedroom. But there is a lot more you can do to make a great impression upon prospective buyers:

  • Use neutral coloured bedding – a master bedroom should use light neutral coloured bedding, as this helps brighten the room and make the bed appear larger. If you do have another colour within the room, use cushions or throw rugs of it in the room.

  • Declutter the bedroom – having unnecessary bedding, accessories or furniture can distract buyers. Research has shown that cluttered rooms lead to feelings of stress, fatigue and overwhelm.

  • Depersonalise the bedroom – remove all photos and personal items from view. Place makeup, hairbrushes and clothing out of sight. You want the buyer to be able to picture themselves living there and not see you!

  • Prioritise natural light – natural light makes a space more welcoming and seem larger. If required, remove any window dressings that are obstructing the window, replacing with sheer or full pull back curtains. Once again these should be in neutral colours. Hang mirrors strategically where they can reflect light within the bedroom.

  • Use greenery – indoor plants help establish a feeling of calmness and happiness to a room. Place in corners or on furniture to capture attention and add to the ambience of the bedroom.

  • Vary décor texture – use a variety of textures amongst your décor and accessories to add interest to the bedroom. This can be done using rugs, window treatments and cushions.

  • Showcase storage options – storage is an important features buyers look for. This means whatever storage you have available needs to be highlighted. It can be tempting to put all the clothes and clutter from a bedroom inside the closet, but it is best to keep this area clutter free too. Choose a few nice pieces of clothing and hang them on coat hangers, removing the remainder to showcase the closet’s spaciousness.
